If you think the name Foxy Shazam suggests a band ready to have a funky, '70s-era good time, you’d be partly right. There’s some '70s sensibility, for sure, but it’s more Queen-variety glam-rock than “do the hustle.”

The name actually was a slang term used in frontman Eric Nally's Cincinnati high school to connote cool shoes. It’s now a name you can find on SPIN Magazine’s 10 Bands to Watch in 2010.

The over-the-top experimental rock outfit is quickly proving ready for the big time with grandiose tunes and captivating, and sometimes acrobatic, stage performances. The band's latest album, Foxy Shazam, features the sports-anthem-in-waiting stomper, “Unstoppable,” a song that got airtime during this year’s Super Bowl. “We Are the Champions,” indeed.

Kick ass band, saw them for the first time last night as they opened for Hole in CHICAGO.. Definitely looking forward to seeing them again at Lolla, but a tad dissapointed they will only be performing for 30 minutes. Im usually bitching for the opening band to get the hell off stage at shows, but their performance was so awesome and entertaining, I didnt mind at all!

i just saw these guys in St Louis on tuesday and it was one of the best shows i have seen outside of Lolla in years. they are so much better live than on their album, which is saying a lot. eric is like a punk version of Prince gone Cirque du Soleil. they were also cool to pose for pictures and sign posters.

everyone should be stoked to see them! the Flamingo Trigger is one of the coolest albums i have ever heard. they have been around a long time & i'm glad they're finally getting noticed. i agree with mckee21 on loving the evolution of this band. YOU ALL NEED TO CHECK THEM OUT, YOU WILL BE AMAZED!!

This band has been one of my favorite bands for quite a long time...to see the evolution that this band has taken is amazing...from the faux Hardcore of The Flamingo Trigger...to the raw garage soul of Introducing...to this absolutely spectacular self titled album...This band is worth all of the hype surrounding them...hands down one of the greatest live shows ever...with one of the most entertaining frontment ever seen (eric nally)...do yourself a favor...take a ride with foxy shazam
