Though their moniker would make Tipper Gore tingle, the U.K.'s F**k Buttons are surprisingly tight-lipped on their recordings. Swapping obscenity for intensity, the instrumental electronica duo of Benjamin John Power and Andrew Hung craft songs that somehow manage to ebb and flow while simultaneously giving an aural head kick to listeners.
The gristly drone and pulsing beats of their 2008 debut, Street Horrrsing, garnered them a “Best New Music” nod from Pitchfork and similar acclaim from SPIN and Kerrang!. While it may look like two hipsters just raided the music section of a Toys R' Us and made off like bandits, their Casio love breaks the languishing dullness of traditional post-rock and gives the listener something to sway to. Nowhere is this more apparent then in their album Tarot Sport, released last year.
