It’s hard to believe French DJ Joachim Garraud finds the
time to put heaps of energy into his show, what with his massive resume of
production credits that includes David Bowie, Kylie Minogue and Moby. The
classically trained pianist incorporates live instruments into his DJ set with
his weapon of choice, the keytar.
In an interview with Laptop Rockers, Garraud said, “I love that I am creating futuristic music whilst using old instruments from the past”. In cooperation with component-maker Pioneer, Garraud participated in the development of the DVD DVJ-1000, which allows him to mix both sound and images on turntables, creating a visual spectacle Garraud can control during his performances.
