Prior to banding together with Robbie Furze as the Big Pink,
Milo Cordell ran his own label, Merok Records, featuring early work from
Crystal Castles and the Klaxons. In 2007, after running another independent
label together (Hate Channel, for those keeping score at home), Furze and
Cordell started recording jointly.
It took only one single, 2008’s quietly intense “Too Young to Love,” for the electro-rock duo to win the Philip Hall Radar Award, an editors-choice award for a new band, at the 2009 NME Shockwave Awards. The Big Pink released their gorgeous debut, A Brief History of Love, on 4AD later last year. After opening for TV on the Radio and Muse in 2009, the duo is now poised for headliner status.
